East Allington Viking Day

March 1, 2018

On Tuesday the 20th of February, the children in Class 2 at East Allington Primary School came to school dressed as Vikings. They looked amazing in their costumes!

Dave Oliver from Rattlebox Theatre visited the school for the morning and told some stories about Vikings. Then he showed the children a range of weapons and explained how they were made and used. The children thought that the best part of the morning was when they did a battle skills workshop in the playground. They learnt how to make an effective shield wall and enjoyed throwing rubber spears at Dave and Mrs Ward!

The children learnt about how Vikings used looms to weave cloth and in the afternoon they tried to weave on some round looms.
Everyone learnt a lot about the Vikings and really enjoyed the day.
