Welcome to The Sixth Form

Please find below information which we hope will enable a smooth transition from Year 11 to the next step of your education with us.

ADMISSIONS PORTAL

We have now launched our Year 12 Admissions Portal, which contains our Student Admissions Booklet allowing us to collect essential student data via the admissions form, along with our Sixth Form policies and agreements, all of which need to be completed via the link below. Within the portal you can also find our Student Bursary Application for eligible students, Post 16 Transport information provided by DCC and individual course information.

TRANSITION TASKS

Transition tasks have been set for each course offered and uploaded onto the schools website for you to complete ahead of your start in September. If you are still undecided about one or more subjects, you should complete the tasks for all the options you are considering.

The transition tasks can be found on the school website or accessed using the following link:

GCSE RESULTS DAY – THURSDAY 20 AUGUST

We look forward to celebrating with you on Thursday 20 August when GCSE results are released. Results day this year will run slightly different from previous years to ensure government guidelines and social distancing measures are adhered to; further information regards results day will be issued soon.

YOUR FIRST DAY IN THE SIXTH FORM - TUESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER

Working on the assumption that schools fully return in September, your first day of the new term starts at 8.50am on Tuesday 8 September. Please go straight to the study centre/café where you will meet the sixth form team and your new tutor. Here you will be given all the information you need to get started in sixth form including your timetable.

There will be a few admin tasks to complete on the first day; one of which will be taking your photo for your student lanyard.

During the afternoon we hope to offer a BBQ lunch for everyone followed by team building activities to end the first day.

WEDNESDAY 9 SEPTEMBER

You should go straight to your tutor room for 8.50am on Wednesday morning to hand in any forms that needed to be signed at home; period 1 and 2 will be spent with your tutor. Your first lesson will be period three.

LESSONS DELIVERED ACROSS SCHOOL SITES

Any lessons you have at the opposite school site will be shown on your timetable and we will be able to support with room numbers and names of staff from when you attend for your first lesson at the opposite school site. You will be fully inducted at Sixth Form and shown where everything is, you will also receive a minibus timetable showing the times and locations for the shuttle bus between the two schools. Any questions please ask a member of the Sixth Form Team, we are here to help.
